Warriors doctor John Mayhew has spoken out about the day he "should have died", and is pushing for easier access to defibrillators in New Zealand.
In April, the 60-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest after completing a Crossfit gym workout.
"Obviously in my medical career I've been involved in a lot of cardiac arrests, and I never expected to be personally involved as the patient."
Mayhew said fortunately an off-duty police officer was at the gym at the time of the incident, and started cardiac massage while someone got a defibrillator...read more
